About Me

Who am I?

My name is Vivian Taylor and I’m a dedicated reader…alright I’m an avid reader bordering on a manic reader. I enjoy reading from a variety of genres. My favorite genres include Legal Thrillers, Medical Thrillers, Mystery, Psychological Thrillers, Romantic Suspense, Suspense, Thrillers, Contemporary Fiction, Romance, and Classic Literature. I also enjoy reading nonfiction relating to aromatherapy, herbalism, perfumes and perfumery, tea, comparative religion, Islam, and Muslims.

I’m also a writer. I’ve written several informative booklets on Islam and Muslims, co-authored and edited books on Islamic parables, as well as authored numerous Islamic articles and reviews. Even though I’ve written quite a number of booklets, books, and magazine articles I remain, first and foremost, a devoted reader. (Islamic articles, booklets, etc. written and published under the names of Vivian bint Vondal Taylor, Vivian bint Joan Taylor, and Vivian Taylor-Ayoub.)

Why did I start this blog?

I’ve read blogs by professionals and those with emphasis on one or two genres. I thought it would be interesting to start a blog for the basic reader by a basic reader. I was also tired of answering the questions what have you read lately and what did you think about what you’ve read lately? My reviews for books may be quite simple, but I’ll try my best to let you know about the books I’ve enjoyed reading and why. So sit back, relax, and read along with me…

Reading Recommendations?

Do you have a recommendation for me? If so, leave me a comment or email me at BookDivasReads[at]gmail[dot]com. I welcome your thoughts. (Note: If a book looks interesting it gets added to my ever-growing to-be-read [TBR] list, if not it gets added to my to-be-considered list and a few actually go to the definitely not list.)

  1. Hi Vivian,
I just wanted to say thanks for your lovely review of The Curse Of Van Gogh. Your comments made my day.
I’m just finishing up edits on the my 2nd novel, Finding The Real Mona Lisa. Same cast of characters. The difference is this time my protagonist, Tyler Sears, must recover the original Mona Lisa which was stolen by two idiots from a mobsters house, where it domiciled after being stolen by the mobster’s father, at the end of WW2.
Again, thanks for your kind review of my first novel.
What are you reading these days?
    Happy Holidays ,

  2. Hi there! Love your blog! I love sharing books with others and since book club is on hold for a while, I have really enjoyed sharing recommendations with fellow bloggers! I am currently hooked on the Angel Fall Series by Tess Thompson (books can be read on their own too!). It’s a super exciting, fast-paced read and I am loving “Dark Truths” (https://sisterswritingcrime.blogspot.com/). This is a romantic suspense book that will definitely keep you hooked from start to finish (full of twists and turns). The book follows a Sheriff named Jonas Clearwater who is on the hunt to find out the truth behind the murder of his friend, Cecil. Cecil was an author who was investigating the murder of three women in New Mexico for his next book. Seems like he may have found out too much information.. Jonas’s former love interest, Peyton is also involved, as Cecil was a friend of hers too. (I think this book is a really great mix of murder mystery and romance).
I love a fast-paced crime novel that kicks off with a ton of head scratchers and this story does that in spades. If you do check it out I would love to hear your thoughts! Happy Reading and Happy 2022!
